Feeling Celebrity for A Day: My Quickfire Episodes with Chef Rosebud

I’m no kitchen goddess. Heck, I’m not even good enough to cook for a local eatery.  But I do my best to cook nutritious and edible food for my family.  It helps a lot to have a husband who always maintains that I am a very good cook and who does his best to gobble up everything I put on his plate.  It’s also great that my children are still very young and have not yet been exposed much to real gourmet food. So to them, Mama is the best cook in their own little world.

Aside from recipes in magazines I regularly purchase like the Good Housekeeping, Smart Parenting and Working Mom, local cooking shows have helped me a great deal in becoming more knowledgeable in the kitchen. Among my most favorites are the ones in QTV11. Quickfire, My Favorite Recipes and Sarap at Home are those that I used to able to watch regularly because they were televised right before lunchtime.  With Quickfire being among my favorite shows,  I did not have second thoughts sending a recipe when I found out that they were inviting moms to cook with Chef Rosebud.

It was nerve wracking to cook side by side THE Chef Rosebud in THE Quickfire Kitchen and the cameras made me so self-conscious that it took much effort remembering the steps in my recipes. Yes, “recipeS”! I had the privilege of taping two episodes for Quickfire Season 12. Imagine that! I cooked not once, but twice with Chef Rosebud. I really can’t wait for the DVDs to come out so I can have clear copies of the episodes. In case you’d want to see how I fared as a Quickfire Foodie Mommy, here are videos that I took of them. Forgive the poor quality as I only used my digital camera:

Getting all made up by a professional make-up artist, being in front of the cameras, and cooking with my favorite chef is truly something I will never forget. But the best part of this experience is finding out that the Chef I admire has a beautiful soul that radiates and makes her look even more beautiful.
