To start its third year, ParenTIN.tv celebrated two years of informative and fun episodes and events with some of the country’s mommy bloggers. The Blogger’s Day held at Richmonde Eastwood Hotel last September 10 gave mommy bloggers an opportunity to personally meet Tintin Bersola-Babao, to interact with each other in person(which was definitely better than online chatting), and to learn more about inculcating good values in children and taking care of the family’s health.

A scrumptious buffet by Chef Bienvendo Chavez of Richmonde Hotel greeted us when we arrived at the venue. The delightful array of breads, salad, soup, entrees and dessert made our mouths water. I practically had to stop myself from drooling at the delectable French pastries.

This lady sure is much sweeter than all those sweets put together!

With our tummies full and with overflowing cups of coffee to enervate us, mommy bloggers were welcomed by Tintin and were informed of the latest in Tintin’s career. Tintin can now be seen from Monday to Friday from 7 to 8am on TV5. She joins Amy Perez and Chiqui Roa in giving practical tips to mothers on the Kumare Club every morning. She is also the endorser of EVEolution’s newest product line, Smart Steps, which offers cleaning products specially formulated for babies and young children.

As for ParenTIN.tv, we moms have more to watch out for on its third year. ParenTIN.tv episodes can be seen on the Knowledge Channel, Skycable Channel 42, on Sundays at 8pm, on Mondays at 7:20pm, on Wednesdays at 8:40pm, and on Saturdays at 9am, 2pm, and 9pm. ParenTIN.tv also wishes to know the insights of teenagers and is searching for teen bloggers who wish to share their thoughts. If you know anyone who might be interested in this, do ask them to send in their articles to [email protected].

To usher the Christmas season, ParenTIN.tv launched an online promo giving enterprising moms a chance to win a free booth at The Grand International Importers and Exporters Christmas Bazaar in World Trade Center from November 11-20. Each successful referral ups your chances of winning the free booth, so refer your entrepreneur friends now. For more inquiries on this, you may email [email protected].

After keeping us abreast with the most recent activities, Tintin announced the winners of the two recently conducted online contests. Vince Crispaul and Harrich Jean Agbisit bagged the prizes for the ParenTIN.tv Toddler Contest. Harrich Jean personally received her prize during the event but Vince’s prize had to be sent via courier as he lived away from the Metro. As for the Online Quiz, Bedalyn Aguas and Aileen Lumbang were declared winners with Bedalyn scoring a perfect 10!

PhotobucketBefore we proceeded to listening to the guest speakers, Pehpot of Make or Break and Joy of Occasions of Joy presented the mommy bloggers’ gift to Tintin. Given to her was a collection of handcrafted cards made especially for her by the mommy bloggers who had the privilege of joining her celebrate ParenTIN.tv’s anniversary. After this came the informative talks by Vanessa Garon and Zonito Torevillas-Tamase.

PhotobucketWe were surprised to know that there is such a thing as Internet addiction and that this along with many other forms of addiction can start from Early Childhood. Vanessa Garon, of Golden Values School and The Nazareth Formation House, expounded the reasons and circumstances that lead to addiction. Two young adults who are both under a rehabilitation program at the Nazareth Formation House gave their testimonies on how their lives were torn apart, how their families could have curbed their addictions, and how they are recovering from their addictions. Their heart-rending stories now make me more wary on how I deal with the toddlers. I tend to be very indulgent to their whims and my husband, being on the opposite pole, tends to be very disciplinary. I have echoed what I learned from Vanessa Garon and her two wards to my husband and this has led to a still on-going discussion on how we can balance our parenting styles and how we can ensure that the toddlers are equipped with the right values.

PhotobucketZonito Torevillas-Tamase of Golden Style Café discussed how important it is to choose to be healthy by eating healthy food. She also explained Alkalinity and how keeping our bodies alkaline can help us maintain our body’s optimal health. She stressed the importance of drinking eight glasses of water in specific intervals to maintain the proper level of alkalinity. Eating fruits and vegetables is also better than eating meat which are actually acidic. She also demonstrated how to prepare a fruit shake using malunggay powder, one of their products, to fortify the nutritive value of mangoes and bananas. The malunggay powder doesn’t affect the taste of other food so it can be mixed with virtually any food or drink.

PhotobucketWe were also given a short tour of Richmonde Eastwood Hotel. We were shown three of their available rooms: a Deluxe Twin, a Deluxe Queen, and a Two Bedroom Suite. All the rooms were of modern eclectic design and really would make any weary traveler or vacationer feel comfortable. We were also shown Fitness Center on the top floor. We couldn’t view the outdoor swimming pool though as it has raining that time.

We all went home arms brimming with goodies. ParenTIN.tv gave away Robby Rabbit bags to lucky raffle winners, and Uratex Permasoft pillows and Fold-and-Go mattresses to all mommy bloggers. Smart Steps gifted each mommy with a swag bag with a complete range of products from their newest line. Zonito also handed out Malunggay chips. Morever, Chef Bien prepared pasta which was quickly devoured after we came back from the hotel tour.

This very informative event in celebration of ParenTIN.tv’s second anniversary seems to foreshadow more enlightening and educational episodes from the only online television show in the country. I am eager to watch what Tintin has in store for us moms this year. Join me in watching and learning from www.parentin.tv.
