Getting Ready for Trick-or-Treat

Three weeks left before trick-or-treating day!  I’m sure most of you have already started preparing your costumes or have bought them from your fave stores.  I myself am still browsing through sexy halloween costumes online coz I’m not yet certain whether I want to be spooky or enchanting this year.

The kids will be having a Halloween program in school.  Their theme is K Bewitching Spooky so the two little ones will be going as a Bat Queen and a Spider King.  I really didn’t want them going as witches, zombies, or vampires. 🙂

If you haven’t prepared your kids’ costumes yet, here are some guidelines you may want to consider:

  • Make sure that the child will be able to move comfortably in his costume.  He may be wearing the cutest (or scariest) costume in town but if he can’t move comfortably, he’d think someone played a trick on him.
  • Check the costume for loose buttons, sharp edges, or wires that can poke.
  • Take advantage of sales. Your kids would probably use their costumes just once so you really wouldn’t want to spend too much on them. If you are handy with the sewing machine, you may even just use clothes or blankets you already have at home.
  • Make sure the costumes are weather appropriate.  If the weather’s cold in your area, have your kids wear thick leggings and bundle up with a coat.
