The Beautiful Science behind Great Hair Care

Want to say goodbye to bad hair days?  You can try just every other hair care product out there until you find the perfect one for you. OR you can try to understand the science behind hair care and use that knowledge to choose the best products for your hair. I’d choose the latter if I were you. 🙂

The word SCIENCE does sound terrifying (think chemistry, biology, and physics), but bear with me here as I share what BEAUTIFUL SCIENCE is all about. Promise you won’t need to know Avogadro’s number or the atomic theory to understand this. 😉

#BeautifulScience Behind Pantene

The Problem

To know what makes your hair beautiful, you must know first what damages it. Pantene Technologies identified the most common agents of hair damage:

  • chemical treatments
  • rough brushing
  • tying hair too tightly
  • vigorous drying with a towel
  • prolonged exposure to the sun or to water
  • heat from blow dryers

These agents strip off or erode the hair cuticle(the outer protective covering of hair) exposing the cortex(inner hair structure) to damage. When this happens, hair becomes dry, dull, and brittle. This can lead to split ends, breakage, frizziness, hair fall, and other signs of hair damage.

The Solution

To restore hair health and protect it from further damage, the exposed hair cortex must be covered or the cuticle replaced and strengthened. This is exactly what Pantene Daily Intensive Conditioner does – it deposits a protective layer to seal every strand of hair protecting it from further damage and restoring its shine. This is the very reason why hair conditioned by Pantene passes the Static Generator Experiment.
